In Part 2, Greg and his family go on a road trip to Meemaw’s 90th birthday party. However, things go awry when Greg’s dad gets lost, prompting the Heffleys to take a detour. Along the way, they stop atInteresting Places which are all tourist traps that Greg finds incredibly boring. However, things start to look up when they stumble upon a ice cream truck. Unfortunately, the ice cream is all melted and the truck driver won’t give them any money back.
The Heffleys eventually make it to Meemaw’s house where they have a big family dinner. Afterwards, Greg plays with his cousin Manny and finds out that he is really good at video games. The two of them bond over their shared love of gaming and decide to start a gaming YouTube channel together.
Meanwhile, back at home, Greg’s pet fish dies while he is away. When he gets home, his mom makes him clean out the fish tank and he finds out that his goldfish was not the only one to die in his absence.
Part 3
The Heffleys go on a road trip. Greg is excited to visit Aunt Becky and Uncle Gary because they have a game room. But when the family arrives, Greg quickly realizes that his Aunt and Uncle’s idea of fun is very different from his own.
With the family scheduled to be on the road for two whole weeks, Greg knows he needs to find a way to make the trip more bearable. So he hatches a plan – one so brilliant, it just might work… if only he can get the entire family on board.
