It’s the winter holidays and the Heffley family is getting ready to go on a tropical vacation. But, when Greg discovers that his grandma is coming along for the trip, he starts to get worried. He knows that she will be cramping his style and he won’t be able to do any of the things he wants to do. Will Greg be able to survive this trip or will it be a disaster?

Summary of the plot

The Heffleys spend a lot of time arguing in the car on the way to vacation. When they finally arrive, the cottage is run-down and not at all what they were expecting. The family tries to make the best of it, but things just keep getting worse. The kids find a dead rat in their room, and Greg’s mom gets bit by a spider. Fed up, the Heffleys decide to head home early. But on the way back, they get lost and end up in a scary part of town. When their car runs out of gas, they have no choice but to spend the night in a creepy motel. It’s going to be a long night for the Heffleys…

The Good

This series is one of my son’s favorites. He looks forward to each new book. They are easy to read with humor sprinkled throughout. I would recommend these books for children who are beginning readers or enjoy a good laugh.

##The Bad
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about this book.

My son enjoyed this book and so did I. We both laughed out loud at some of the situations the characters found themselves in. I would recommend this book to others.

The Bad

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Book 17: The Getaway is not one of the best books in the series. It’s too short, and not very funny. Greg’s family vacation to a tropical island just isn’t all that interesting or exciting. If you’re looking for a good Wimpy Kid book, you’ll be better off with one of the earlier books in the series.

The Ugly

I was really disappointed with the latest Diary of a Wimpy Kid book. The plot was all over the place and it didn’t seem like anything really happened. The characters were really un likable and I didn’t care about any of them. The humor was cringey and juvenile. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

I would recommend this book to kids who like adventure and humor. I think that Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a great series for kids to read. I like that the books are easy to read and have illustrations. I also like that the main character, Greg, is a kid that kids can relate to.

I would recommend this book to kids who are fans of the series and are interested in a quick, easy read. This book is appropriate for ages 8-12.
