Describe how the setting is different from the previous book
In the latest book in the series, main character Greg Heffley and his family are moving houses, from their familiar suburban neighbourhood to a new development out in the country. As Greg’s father excitedly starts working on fixing up their new house, Greg is less than thrilled about leaving all his friends behind and having to start at a new school.
The Heffleys’ new house is located in a cul-de-sac (a dead-end street with houses surrounding a central green space) which is something that’s completely foreign to Greg. His neighbourhood back home was full of busy streets and there was always something happening. In his new neighbourhood, it feels like there’s nothing to do and everyone goes to bed early. Even the kids in the cul-de-sac seem boring to him.
At first, Greg really hates the change but slowly starts exploring his new surroundings and eventually starts to enjoy living in the country. He makes some new friends, including a boy named Rowley who lives next door, and even starts developing a crush on one of his neighbours.
By the end of the book, Greg has come to accept his new home and even thinks that he might miss it when his family eventually moves back into town.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Next Book is the upcoming eleventh book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. The book is set to be released on November 3, 2020. The plot of the book has not been revealed yet.
Introduce the new plot

On the way there, they take a wrong turn and end up in a small town called Harmony Falls. While there, they meet some interesting characters, including a woman named Maureen who owns a store called The Genuine Article. They also meet a man named Charles, who is the town’s only live-in caretaker.
One day, while exploring the town, Greg and his family discover an old abandoned house. Charles tells them that the house is said to be haunted by the ghost of a woman named Sarah. According to legend, Sarah was a woman who was killed by her husband many years ago.
Greg and his family decide to try and contact Sarah’s spirit. They hold a seance in the house and strange things start to happen. Objects move around on their own and Greg hears someone calling his name. He also sees Sarah’s ghostly figure walking through the house.
It turns out that Sarah’s husband is still alive and he has been living in the house all these years. He has been using Sarah’s ghost to scare people away so that he can live in peace. But when he realizes that Greg and his family are not afraid of ghosts, he decides to leave Harmony Falls forever.

I am going to start a new book. I have been wanting to do this for a while, and I have finally gathered enough courage. This book will be different from the previous ones. It will be about my journey as an entrepreneur.
Introduce the new resolution
I resolve to be braver.
I’m not quite sure what caused this sudden change in me. It could be that I’m just tired of being a wimp. Or maybe it’s because I finally realized that being brave doesn’t mean that you’re not afraid. It just means that you’re willing to face your fears and do what needs to be done, even if it’s scary.
Whatever the reason, I’m done being a chicken. From now on, I’m going to stand up for myself and speak my mind, even if it means getting into trouble sometimes. I might not be the biggest or the strongest kid around, but I’m not going to let that stop me from doing what’s right.
So here’s to a new resolution: I will be braver.
